How does the Cuchi firing range look like?

Watch the clip below:

Where is Cuchi firing range?

Cuchi shooting range is in Ben Duoc tunnels complex located in Cuchi district, around 75km from Saigon downtown to the northwest.

How to get to Cuchi firing range? By bus. You must have much experience in using this type of public transportation in the southest asia. From Ben Thanh bus central, catch bus number 4 (Bến Thành – Bến xe An Sương). Then jump on bus number 74 (bến xe An Sương – bến xe Củ Chi), and the last is bus 79 (bến xe Củ Chi – đền Bến Dược). Good luck with this option!

By motorbike. Just rent a scooter that costs around 10-12 USD/day and cruise to Ben Duoc tunnels amongst other million motorbikes of the bustling Saigon. By backpacker bus. It’s properly the cheapest way. Make sure your destination is Ben Duoc tunnels, not the touristy Ben Dinh tunnels.

By car. It’s easy, comfortable, no doubt ! That last way and properly the best way to experience the whole trip is to book a motorcycle tour

To enquire about the off-road tour to Cuchi tunnels by dirt bike? Click here

How much does the Cuchi tunnels entrance fee cost?

For foreigners, it’s now 105.000 vnd/visitor. If you are in a group, they will provide staff to accompany you.

How much does the bullet cost in Cuchi shooting range?

The average cost is 60.000vnd/bullet, minimum 5 bullets/order. We recommend trying to shoot the AK47 and M30 or M60 guns. Other choices are M16, K54, Carbine.

AK47-bullets

Is there any shooting range in Ha Noi?

No, there is no firing range in Ha Noi, Cuchi is the only public shooting range in Vietnam

Is there any shooting range in Cambodia?

Yes, there are some there. Contact your local travel agencies for more details.

The highlights of this tour are floating markets, floating villages along Mekong river, back roads, waterways, and local customs and cuisines

They chose the pillion riding option due to not being familiar with Vietnam traffic. That’s was a smart decision. It even takes time for experienced riders to understand how the locals ride here, absolutely!

The couple was driving on back roads mostly through villages away from the tourist track and discovering the real life of people living along this magic river. This 3-day Mekong delta tour is an adventurous journey where they would fall in love with waterways, back roads, culture, and heritage in this area.

The video below was at the lunch stop. A secret food was ordered as a side dish and they wouldn’t know what the meat was. Now watch the video!

Secret bases formerly utilized to hide weapons and classified correspondence during the Vietnam War afford a glimpse of the city’s resistance efforts.

Saigon Riders city tour

Saigon Special Force is the name of the Southern liberation task force which specialized in raids aimed at the Saigon regime and the U.S. military forces in Saigon during the Vietnam War from 1955 to 1975.

The “Following the Saigon Special Force Footprint” tour series was designed and introduced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Traditional Club of Saigon-Gia Dinh Resistance Force on the occasion of the 45th Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2020) anniversary.

A department representative said HCMC has contributed much to the heroic development of Vietnam, with the Saigon Special Force underground system at the heart of the city’s history.

During the tour, visitors can travel via cars or motorbikes once used by soldiers to the interchange at 113A Dang Dung Street, District 1 to enjoy Dai Han broken rice and Do Phu coffee, then explore the base formerly housing a secret mailbox, money, gold, and other resources.

The secret base was located opposite the Korean military residence and next to the house of Ngo Quang Truong, a general of the Republic of Vietnam Military Forces at the time.

The house on 113A Dang Dung Street, District 1, which used to be a secret base during the Vietnam War. Photo by VnExpress/Nguyen Nam.

The house on 287/2 Vo Van Tan Street, District 3, was bought by Tran Van Lai using personal funds under the direction of superiors. He and his wife secretly dug a tunnel, reinforcing it to create three large basements that contain about two tons of weapons.

According to Tran Vu Binh, son of the late Saigon Special Force member, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Tran Van Lai, to stay undercover, the house used to be a mattress, sofa, and curtain supplier for the Independence Palace. The palace was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

“I hope the tour of the ‘special force network’ will offer visitors the chance to follow in the footprints of these brave and intelligent soldiers,” said Binh.

Saigon city tour

Le Khang from Binh Thanh District said: “I only learned about the Saigon Special Force through mass media. Now, after the tour, I understand the soldiers’ daring skills in a better light.”

Currently, the tour can only accommodate eight to 10 people due to the venues’ limited space.

Along with the introduction and reboot of tourism activities, HCMC will promote the “Ho Chi Minh City Now” campaign to make the city’s culture, history, and lifestyle better known.

All the money earned from this tour will be donated to the Traditional Club of Saigon-Gia Dinh Resistance Force. The tour is now offered by Saigontourist and Vietravel and later by other travel companies.

The Health Ministry confirmed zero fresh Covid-19 cases Tuesday morning, keeping the national count at 271 since Sunday evening, with no deaths.

Vietnam has also gone 19 days straight without any case of community transmission of the novel coronavirus.

Of the total cases so far, 221 have recovered and 50 are still under treatment. Among the active cases, 12 are relapses.

Two other relapsed cases in Hanoi have tested negative four times and have been declared healthy. They are expected to be discharged Tuesday.

According to the National Hospital of Tropical Disease in Hanoi, where the two were treated after relapsing, testing shows the virus was “inactive” and could not be transmitted to others.

Doctor Nguyen Thanh Binh said the hospital has used the Realtime RT-PCR system, the world’s most trusted method now for testing and studying the new coronavirus.

The system is “very sensitive” and able to detect the virus even when there is only one RNA left in a sample, he said. After culturing the virus samples taken from two relapsed cases, the hospital confirmed that the two relapsed patients could not transmit the virus among the community because it was actually an “inactive virus,” he said.

On Monday morning, most students in the country returned to schools after an unprecedented, prolonged break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected 212 countries and territories. More than 252,300 deaths have been reported so far.

When is the best time to travel to Vietnam?

There is no perfect time to travel to Vietnam. Generally speaking, destinations in the north such as Hanoi and Sapa are great in October, November and December, as you’ll see little rain and should have clear skies and temperate conditions.

The coastal stretch from Hue down to Nha Trang is great in the first half of the year, from January through to July, while Saigon and the Mekong Delta are best from November through to February or March.

Why is that?

Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate. Broadly speaking, the weather in Vietnam has two seasons. The southwest monsoon is from April to September, the northeast monsoon is from October to late March or early April. So, when is the best time to travel to Vietnam?

People often equate monsoons with rain, but that is only partly the case in Vietnam, as a number of regional variations affect the rain. What is worth remembering though is the southwest monsoon is warm and wet, the northeast monsoon cool, not so wet.

As far as planning goes, the easiest way to get your head around it is to break up the country into three areas: the north, the centre and the south. Temperatures are fairly constant throughout, with the exception of Hanoi and the far north (which can be very cold in December and January) and the Central Highlands (which can be slightly cooler than the rest of the country year-round).

When is the best time to travel to North Vietnam?

Northern Vietnam has a cool to cold season (courtesy of the northeast monsoon from November to March) and a warm to hot wet season (from April to October). December and January in particular can get quite frosty in the far north of Vietnam — pack accordingly. This time of the year can also see heavy mists that can run for days. These things can reduce visibility in places like Sapa and Ha Long Bay to frustratingly short distances. The wettest months of the year in Hanoi are July and August, the driest, December and January.

See our Northern Vietnam motorcycle tour here

When is the best time to travel to Central Vietnam?

Saigon Riders

Central Vietnam is kind of a transitionary area climate-wise from the north to the south. As Truong Son mountain range shields the coast line, the rains that come with the southwest monsoon don’t make it to the coast, so between April and September, while the coastal area does see some rain, it does see less than other parts of the country.

This advantage is reversed though come the northeast monsoon when, between September and December, the northern section of Central Vietnam (Hoi An and Da Nang through to Hue and Dong Ha) receive considerable rain. The typhoon season in the Western Pacific, which can see severe storms lashing the coast from August to November, can affect this region — Hoi An in particular often floods in October or November. Further south though, the southern coastal strip from around Nha Trang to Mui Ne is less affected by the rain and sees a longer dry and sunny season.

See our Central Vietnam motorcycle tour here

When is the best time to travel to South Vietnam?

Without the protection of the Truong Son mountain range, southern Vietnam, especially the Mekong Delta, gets plenty of rain and hot, humid weather during the southwest monsoon from April to September, with June and July being especially wet. At this time you’ll most likely see some flooding in Saigon and the southern island of Phu Quoc can see persistently poor weather and rough seas.

Always bring your tool box!

Dirt bikes are temperamental pieces of machinery – one weekend they’ll be running flawlessly, and then the next, not so much. It’s why packing a selection of essentials each and every time we load up the bike and head out to the track or trail is a must to ensure your day isn’t ruined by something that can be easily fixed or replaced. Here are six must-have essentials our Vietnam motorcycle tour guides take to the track to make sure your day doesn’t end in misery.

1) Toolbox/bumbag with tools

First things first, a toolbox or a bumbag with tools with at least the essentials is a must. We all know things can get pretty wild on a dirt bike, and when they do go south, it generally means something’s gonna’ need to be straightened out, pulled apart, or tightened up. The bare basics to bring along with you would be a range of size appropriate (to your bike) T-bars, a selection of spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, rubber mallet/hammer, socket set, plus a set of allen keys. These are the basics that will get out of trouble on most occasions. On our Vietnam motorcycle tour, we can easily find a mechanic shop, in case we need more tools!

2) Fuel

Save yourself the embarrassment of ‘borrowing’ fuel from your mates, or worse, having to leave your bike on the trail. If you are on a motorcycle tour in Vietnam, gasoline station is almost at every 50km. Our fleet of Kawasaki KLX 250s has a 7.5L fuel tank, enough to explore many miles of challenging dirt roads, mountain passes. But, just ask your Vietnam motorcycle tour guide to stop to fuel you bike while we can. Better be prepared than sorry!

a retail gasoline stand on the road side (central Vietnam tour, May 2019)

3) Spare clutch/brake lever

A broken clutch or brake lever is a common way to cut your day of riding short, but it’s such a cheap and easy fix. We always store one of each in our toolbox. It’s an affordable way to ensure you can continue putting in motos. On day 8 our north Vietnam motorcycle tour last month, a bush mechanic replaced our Honda CRF250L broken clutch lever by the one from his little semi automatic bike. Not a perfect spare but enough to get back to Ha Noi!

4) Front/rear tubes

You just never know when a flat tire is about to strike, and it’s a sure-fire way of packing up the bike and heading home early. Save yourself the heartache and pack a front and rear tube, but only that will not be enough. Make sure you’ve got a set of tire levers, wrenches (to remove the wheel), and of course, a hand pump to get you rolling again. We got a flat tire at 5pm on 2 day dirt bike tour, Nam Cat Tien park and surrounds and a spare rear tube brought us back to the hot shower and mattress of Green bamboo lodge!

flat tire, vietnam motorcycle tour

5) Additional spark plug

Regardless if you ride a modern four-stroke or are still ripping around on a two-stroke, packing a spare spark plug suitable for dirt bike is always ideal. In a lot of cases, a faulty spark plug can be the difference between your dirt bike firing up or not, especially on a two-stroke, so to have a spare on hand is convenient and could save the day.

6) Notable extras

A couple of notable extras that can be easily packed in your toolbox are a packet of cable ties and a roll of duct tape. These can really save the day when you need to make a quick and temporary fix. Also, a bolt kit suited for your bike is another must-pack in your toolbox.

a broken shift lever of the CRF 250L

Most travellers know Cai Rang floating market in Cantho city but not Chau Doc floating market. This is a hidden gemstone of Mekong delta in the town of Chau Doc, An Giang province.

Very a few travellers coming here in early morning. By the time we were there, there were just us, 2 dirt riders, and another couple in sampan we met on the way to Chau Doc floating market.

It could be a unique experience for the city kids but for these children, it’s something run in the family!
